How to evaluate device compatibility before you subscribe

A dark television beside a closed notebook and a pen, with no logos and no readable screen.

Device promises on IPTV websites are often a logo grid: a television brand, a streaming stick, a phone. A logo is not a test on your model. DREXTV Saudi does not show that grid, because no compatibility list has been confirmed. Use this checklist before you pay SAR 260 or SAR 460. The service stance lives on the devices page. The setup shape you should expect later is in the setup article.

Collect the facts from the device itself

  • Brand and model number, from the label or the about screen, not from memory.
  • Whether the system is a named smart-TV platform or a plain display that needs another box.
  • How old the system software is, and whether updates are still offered.
  • Whether you can install applications from a store, and whether that store is restricted.
  • Whether the household will watch on one screen or expects several at the same time.

Send those facts with the trial request. Ask which application they will use on that model. If they cannot name it, you cannot evaluate compatibility yet. Wait.

Use the trial as the compatibility test

Install only the application they name, from the store they name. Sign in with the trial. Open the Pakistani or Indian categories you care about, then leave the stream running longer than a minute. Open a film from the on-demand side as well as a live category. A menu that loads is not the same as a programme that continues.

Repeat on the second device only if they have said a second device is allowed. Otherwise a failure on a phone while the television works may be a screen limit, not a broken phone. That limit is still an open question on pricing.

Red flags

Walk away from a seller who tells you every television in the Kingdom works, who refuses to name an application, or who asks you to pay the annual amount before a one-day test on your model. The 24-hour trial exists so that this check happens first. Compatibility is a property of a model plus an application plus your network. It is not a badge on a homepage.

When the business later confirms a model, a dedicated guide can be added. Until that confirmation, this checklist and the devices page are the complete public guidance. Bring the model code, the application name they gave you, and the result of the 24-hour test to that future guide. A page of generic clicks will still be less useful than those three facts. If the test failed, the next step is a different device or no subscription, not a hope that SAR 260 will make an unsupported television learn a new menu.

Read the model from the set, not from the shop box

The box in a cupboard may belong to an older television. The sticker on the set, or the about screen, belongs to the set you will test. Copy the code character by character. Brand alone is not enough, because two sets from one manufacturer can run different software and different stores. If the about screen also shows a software date, copy that too. A set that no longer receives system updates is a fact the business should hear before you pay SAR 260 or SAR 460.

Do this before you request the 24-hour trial, not during the first anxious hour of access. The trial is for playback. Hunting through menus for a model number is how the clock gets wasted. The devices page explains the site’s refusal to print a logo grid. This article is the field method behind that refusal. You are collecting evidence for one household, not a national compatibility list.

A display with no applications is a different object

Some televisions are only screens. They show a picture from another box and do not install applications themselves. If that is what you own, say so. The business then has to name the box or the stick, not “your smart TV,” because you do not have one. Buying a stick because a video recommended it, before anyone names an application, repeats the mistake this site is trying not to publish. Wait for the name, then buy only if you still need hardware.

A smart television that has a store is not automatically acceptable either. The store you can open in Saudi Arabia must contain the application they name. If the store is restricted, or the application is missing from it, that is a failed compatibility check. Do not jump to a sideloaded file to force the point. This website does not provide sideload steps, and a file from a stranger is not a substitute for a named store listing.

Phones and second screens

A phone can be the right test only if the phone is how you watch. Many households use a phone to see whether a login works, then feel cheated when the television cannot install the same player. If the television is the real screen, test the television. Mention the phone as a second question: “Can this handset also play, at the same time?” You may be told no. You may be told the limit is unpublished. Either answer is more useful than discovering it when a roommate’s stream cuts yours.

Sticks, consoles, and computers are the same pattern. Name the one you will keep. A laptop browser, if someone offers it, still has to be confirmed. Do not assume a browser is a supported device because the marketing site loads. The marketing site is this website. The player is whatever the business names later. Until it is named, compatibility is unfinished, and unfinished is a reason to keep your money.

Pay only after your model has played your category

The sequence is short. Send the model. Receive an application name and a store, or a clear refusal. Install only that application once the trial exists. Open the category you wrote in the pass rule. Let it play longer than a minute, from the seat you use. Then, and only then, consider SAR 260 or SAR 460. A menu that loads is not playback. Playback on the wrong device is not a household result. A seller who calls this fussy is asking you to skip the only check that protects the payment.

If the model is refused, stop. If the application will not install from the store they named, stop. If it installs and the category never plays, stop or ask for a specific fix and a new timed test. Do not buy a year to see whether an unsupported set learns a new menu. A future public guide can exist only for models the business has confirmed. Until your model is one of them, this checklist and the devices page are the whole public story. Bring the code, the application name, and the playback result. Those three lines are worth more than a page of generic clicks.

What a refusal sounds like, and why it is useful

A clear refusal names your model and says the business will not activate it. That is a better message than a vague promise that “all TVs work,” because you can stop before you pay. Ask whether a different screen in the same flat, one you already own, is a candidate. If the answer is another model code, repeat the checklist for that code. If the answer is a device they want you to buy, ask for the application and the store first, and do not buy it during the same conversation as the annual price.

Write the refusal next to the code. If a later seller using a similar brand name says your set is fine, you can show them the earlier answer and ask what changed. Compatibility is allowed to change when software changes. It is not allowed to change merely because the payment on offer became SAR 460 instead of a one-day test. The test stays first.

A notebook beside the set

The picture on this page is a dark television and a closed notebook. Open the notebook for real. Write the brand, the model code, whether the set has a store, and whether anyone else expects to watch at the same time. That page is the compatibility file. A logo on a website is not. Send the page with the trial request, then play the category you named and add the result underneath.

If the line in the notebook is a refusal, stop. If the application will not install from the store they named, stop. If it plays on a phone and the notebook was about the television, the phone result does not fill the television line. Pay SAR 260 or SAR 460 only when the line you will keep says the category played. A longer payment does not teach an unsupported set a new menu, and a small picture of a television does not make the set in your flat supported.
